A new student has been picked for Futures of The week at Palisade and this student is Christian Warn. A part of the amazing program we have at Palisade that helps students get closer step by step, day by day to their future career. Right now his internship is in real estate, but he plans to go to school to major in accounting and get a degree in public accounting and business with a minor in philosophy. When asking him why he was driven to do his internship in real estate he stated, “I was driven to real estate because it’s a versatile job that you can take to any place and use. I have hopes to travel and see great things and being able to take my job with me was a my deciding factor.” When first thinking about an internship in real estate you might think that it sounds dull or boring but when you really think about it, it’s very versatile and Christian Warn has built off that making bright dreams for his near futures.
When asking Warn what his biggest inspiration is he states, “My biggest inspiration has to be my mom, it sounds corny and cliche but I have watched her work long days and long nights to make things work. From late night homework sessions where I drove her nuts or just having to make sure my family functions. It is such an insane thing to see, how someone can do so much and give so much for family.” Not only is he focused on school, but also on his family and it seems most of all his mother, his appreciation for her hard work especially while being busy with this internship shows a lot about his character and how important parents can be in supporting their kid through rough times as well as good.
When asking him one last question on how he would define the word and meaning of success he mentions that, “Success is anything that someone can achieve. Personally I will feel successful when I have a family that I can support and enjoy life with. For others it’s a grand career in sports or earning a certain amount. So success boils down to what you achieve in the end.” Summing it up with the idea that success really matters on the person specifically and their goals, what they want for themselves and a certain end or start point for them. This again shows Warn’s insight on success and how he’ll achieve his own goals starting now. Warn has a big future ahead of him like all the students at Palisade High School. And with hard work and dedication anyone with a dream can get there.
