Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny was selected by the NFL to sing during halftime at the Super Bowl 2026. While politicians from all over America are in an ongoing feud, Bad Bunny fans couldn’t be more excited that one of their favorite artists is performing in the Super Bowl. Freshman Lula Bobbs says, “He’s really good at singing, and I think the beautiful thing about this country is how we have so much culture.” Bobbs is a constant listener of Bad Bunny and is looking forward to the halftime show.
This is causing many speculations between fans and politicians as President Donald Trump does not agree with this decision. According to the New York Times, Trump says, “They blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.” Trump also claims, “I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it — it’s, like, crazy,” Trump disagrees with this choice because of the kind of music Bad Bunny produces, he mostly focuses on Latin Trap and Reggaeton (hispanic culture based music), meaning his music is hard for many of people to understand. Though for some people this is undesirable, a lot of people are still looking forward to this halftime show. This also gives people who are unfamiliar with Bad Bunny the chance to explore different music genres and new artists.
