Olivia Talley, a Senior at Palisade High School is nominated as the Futures of the Week. What are futures you might say? Palisade offers programs and classes that help PHS students get closer to their dream career. PHS offers programs such as police academies, fire department, construction and business programs. Talley is a part of the Leadership Pathway. This pathway is where you learn how to lead in future careers such as teaching or peer tutoring. During the Pathways Program, students are required to take an internship to gain experience in their chosen field. Talley after being congratulated for her award says “It’s pretty exciting and cool”. This shows Talley’s excitement for her recognition for her pathway. The new program has offered another opportunity for students who don’t take the IB program and want something else to help pursue their career. Talley shows her dedication by showing up to school and staying on task and following her dreams. When asked about recommending future Bulldogs Talley said, “I highly recommend it. The Futures Program helps students know what classes to take and shows the next steps for them to succeed”. This demonstrates how much faith Talley has in the Futures Program and how she thinks it will help future students that choose to go through the program. Palisade’s new innovative ways have helped students such as Talley to help achieve her goal. This award is not just a recognition of Tally’s dedication, but an example of many ways PHS helps their students be successful after high school.
