Performing Arts Student of the Week

This week, Mrs.M chose a Bulldog in thespian society for the performing arts student of the week, a Palisade Senior, Beau Roberts. Roberts started in thespian society as a Freshman Bulldog and has shown dedication to thespian society throughout all four years of attending PHS. During his time Robert states that, “We are working on a lot of the backstage, fundraising stuff, and making sure everything runs smoothly.” Robert says that he mostly does acting, and many Bulldogs have seen firsthand how talented the young actor is. Robert has acted in musicals and helped with many other parts of the musicals. Robert states, “It’s definitely been hard. We’re here late when we have late rehearsals, and they’re complex and a lot of work to get put into them from everybody.” During these late rehearsals, the thespian Bulldogs develop the sets and costumes of the musical, really making the whole thing come to life for the audience. Also, Robert was very excited to find out about the Performing Arts Student of the Week. He states he was “Amazed by it… didn’t expect that to happen, but it is always nice to get recognition.” Roberts is in both of the large events that thespian society is hosting, getting to be a part of the haunted house in October and thespian society’s upcoming musical, Mamma Mia! He is also very dedicated to his school work, being in the IB program here at PHS. Roberts balances his time amazingly and excels in both parts of his school life. He also states, “Some new people are coming in… people who haven’t done theatre before, and that’s gonna be really cool, I think.” We are super excited for the future of thespian society and very proud of our fellow Bulldog for his amazing efforts!
