Football is a huge Palisade High School sport, attracting many players each year and they all enjoy the sport, even though there are rough practices, games, and overall rough times. Each athlete is very dedicated to their sport and the positions they play. When asking the varsity team about the game that is coming up, they all were excited to go against the Resurrection Christian team, Senior Michael Kemis says, “Oh, man, I’m super excited for this upcoming game. We’re headed up to Resurrection Christian, and leaving at 10:30 a.m. We all are really pumped.” Senior Tristan Brinton adds, “My goal for this game is just go out there; have fun with my teammates, do really well and get away from the tacklers.” Sophomore Deigan Salvati relates and says, “The strategies we are working on this week are working more as a team. A big focus of this game is executing plays.” Adding onto Salvati, Kemis says, “Another big focus is stopping the spin move. We struggled with that last week, so we’re working on that this week”
With all this being said, Kemis, Brinton and Salvati are super excited with the new plays they have been working on for the game and in general are excited for the game. Coach Rammuno, states, “We are working on trying to match up in schemes for Resurrection Christain. We’re trying to match up personnel with schemes. So we’ve got all three phases: offense, defense and special teams. We feel good, we’ve got to go out and execute and take care of those three phases. If we do that, we’ll have a good chance, but we can’t give the ball. We can’t have turnovers, and we’ve got to be mentally strong and play together as a team.” The football players worked hard and played hard during that game. Considering winning with a score of 24-7. With all this work and practice for the football boys they all had fun and a good time, proving their training and commitment.
