Having a Student Government at school is important because it’s a beneficial way for students to feel comfortable expressing their needs. At Palisade, the Student Government does a great job at supporting and helping people, as well as making school a fun environment to be at. Freshman Mya Martin says, “Right now we are planning our Ruff and Tuff and Powder Puff which is a game where the boys play volleyball and the girls play dodgeball.” Looks like STUCO has some exciting things planned so get ready for some fun. Junior Class Treasure Dominic Hurd says, “We have a lot of great ideas, and it will be cool to finally see them in action.” STUCO is getting excited and so should you.
After being asked what the best part of being in STUCO is, Martin responded with, “I like being able to have a voice in the school and give other people a voice as well, and I love having an impact on the school.” Student Council is essential because it gives students the chance to be heard without the struggle of having to get approval from teachers and staff. Not only do they give other students a voice in the school, but they also do a lot behind the scenes to make things possible, and they spend time outside of school to make sure that things get done. There are many things that STUCO helps with that you may not realize. Make sure to show appreciation to your Student Government.
