The Palisade Bulldogs started the season very strongly, winning against Delta 1-0 in their first game of the season and beating Rifle 3-1 in their second game of the season. Last year, the Bulldogs lost to Delta 2-1 and also lost to Rifle 4-1. Palisade is already doing much better than they were last year, starting the season with a 2-0 record. Andrew Dady, a Senior on the varsity soccer team, said, “couldn’t have been any better, except for the one goal we got scored on,” when he was asked how he felt about the outcome of the game. This reveals that the players are very happy about their win, except for the fact that they conceded a goal, they are very proud of the fact that they have already won against 2 teams they could not beat last season. “ I thought the game went really well. We found their weaknesses and exploited them,” is what Dady said when we asked him how he thinks the game went. Dady said “the game went really well,” it led us to believe that it was another good win for the Palisade Bulldogs. Also, when Dady said “we found their weaknesses and exploited them,” it shows that the bulldogs have strategies and know how to punish opposing teams for their mistakes. “ Defending crosses” said Dady, after we asked him what he thought the team could improve on. Even winning teams have lots of things to improve on and can always be better.
