Palisade High School Baseball is in full swing as the season kicks off with three games already under their belt. The team has been playing with grit and determination on the field, learning from every team they face, win or lose.
The varsity team faced a tough loss against Prairie View on March 6th, followed by another defeat against Ponderosa on March 7th. Despite these losses, the team came over the top with a dominant 12-3 victory over Palmer Ridge, showcasing their resilience and determination to bounce back stronger.
Palisade Junior Will Seriani is the catcher for the varsity baseball team. He has been a varsity starter for two years now. During the first three games of their season, Seriani would describe the team’s defining strength as their determination to ‘never give up’. After a challenging series of games, Seriani reflected on the team’s performance, acknowledging both the setbacks and the valuable lessons learned. “We played a couple of teams that showed us what we really need to work on, but that’s what we want. We want to play harder teams and get better so that state comes easier.”
Seriani reflects on the optimism and unity of the team stating, “Our team energy is amazing and the morale of the team is good. We all want to make the final four more than any other team has wanted it in the past.”
As the Palisade Baseball team continues to navigate their season, they are continually being shaped by the lessons learned, growing with resilience and focus. Regardless of their losses, the team is proving that their journey is about more than just the scoreboard, it is about growth and perseverance. The Bulldogs face Fossil Ridge on Friday, March 14th, so be sure to come out and support the team as they continue their pursuit of greatness.
