This season for girls basketball has been very memorable, the team even beat Montrose who was seventh in the state. If this season showed anything, it’s growth and how if you work hard enough you can reach your goals. The girls basketball team showed so much strength and courage this season and have been nothing but fearless.
Things this season definitely went a little rocky at the beginning, but that didn’t stop the team from pushing on and growing together. A big impact on the team this season was when two seniors on the team, Kyra Birch and Addie Ritterbush couldn’t play. Sophomore Gracie Cooper says, “I would like to give a big shoutout to Kyra and Addie Ritterbush, even though they got injured and their season ended they pushed through as our team captains and still supported us and always brought the team up.” Even though some players got injured through the season, the team never stopped trying and growing with each other.
Even when the team lost games through the season, they never saw it as a loss. Gracie Cooper states, “Instead of looking at losses as a bad thing, we saw them as a way to learn because we learn more when we lose, so that mindset made losing a lot better.” One part of this season that was the teams absolute favorite was beating Montrose since they were seventh in the state. This was a huge accomplishment. One thing that was good for the team was how the chemistry grew with each other this season and how they just grew so much. Even though the season is sadly over, it’s nice to know it was a good one with 14 amazing wins.
