Palisade Paw Post is spinning with excitement to announce our Female Student of the Week: a graceful dancer, artistic thinker, and an exceptionally friendly student. Jordan Meiners, a Bulldog freshman, has displayed kindness and strength during her first year at Palisade. Meiners was nominated by PHS math teacher, Mr. Fredrick.
Mr. Fredrick chose Meiners as Student of the Week because of her positive attitude and hardworking spirit. “When a new student came to the class a couple months ago, I put her next to Jordan because I knew Jordan was going to be very nice, very welcoming.” said Mr. Fredrick. He also expressed the significance of her energy and willingness to learn. When asked how Meiners shows herself worthy as a model student, he replied, “She’s excited to learn, she’s always positive and smiling, and she just works really, really, hard.”
Meiners has proven to be an excellent student, but the door to the classroom isn’t where her energy ends. Meiners is a passionate dancer, and enjoys painting. “I love doing dance, I’m a dance fanatic!” Meiners stated, “I’m just a very active person… but I love being creative.” Meiners expressed interest towards a dance career in the future, as a background dancer or choreographer.
“Don’t overthink when you’re dancing, always just put forth effort that you need to, and keep on going,” quoted Meiners, providing advice for younger dancers. Although not everyone is a dancer, Meiners’ advice transcends the dance floor. Meiners’ amount of effort in and outside of school exceeds standards and proves to all students that hard work does not go unnoticed.
