Last week Palisade Girls Basketball went up against Montrose and crushed the competition with a win. Things got heated through the game. It was a close score and a great game, the Bulldogs worked hard the whole game and even though Montrose almost took the win the Bulldogs swooped in and beat them 29 to 27.
Palisade Sophomore Gracie Cooper is point guard for the girls basketball team, she has been playing since her freshman year although it has only been a year, Cooper has grown so much since then. Montrose was a tough and good team according to Cooper. “Montrose was 7th in the state so we definitely went in prepared and a little nervous but not scared.” Most teams would go into a game with someone who is 7th in the state scared, but the Bulldogs had confidence and went in with a good mindset which helped them a lot.
The game was close through it all and it was hard to tell who was going to win in the end. Cooper said, “They would come out on top then we would. It was alternating and it was just a good game, it was a nail biter for sure.” Even though the Bulldogs went in a little nervous and the game was close through it all in the end the Bulldogs pulled through and got the win, it was definitely one of the closest games of the season which makes it so much better that the Bulldogs won.
I can’t wait to see more games like that this season for our Bulldogs, stay tuned for more stories and show our team some school spirit at the games!
