Bulldogs Take on the Wildcats

With high hopes on the court, the Lady Bulldogs weren’t afraid to take on the Fruita Wildcats on January twenty-fourth. Although the girls kept shooting their best shot, they didn’t land enough points to keep the game from being a blowout. At halftime, the score was already 11 to 30. In the end, the Wildcats took home the win with 52 to 24. Although the Lady Bulldogs were defeated, they still had positive smiles on their faces. “We had a decently sized student section which I think was all that mattered because my friends watching me play is most important to me,” says freshman Imari Bosshardt. Bosshardt is a JV and varsity swing, which is very impressive for a first year high school athlete. She has been playing the game for five years and plays either point guard or shooting guard. “I like how you can have a lot of fun with basketball,” Bosshardt says, “It’s a lot intense being a swing for both JV and varsity, but I love it.” After this basketball season, Bosshardt plans to play soccer in the spring. “Don’t let anyone take you down if you want to play basketball, because there will be a lot of people in your way. It’s gonna be an obstacle for sure, but just push your way through and always remember you’re a student athlete first.” Although the girls didn’t go home with the win against Fruita, they still had a good time. Bosshardt says when referring to the game: “It was honestly a lot of fun. I know we lost, but it was a good experience because everybody learned from that game.” We wish the best of luck to the lady Bulldogs for the rest of their season. Their next game is tomorrow night against Montrose, so be sure to show up!
