Drum roll please for the Palisade High School Marching Band! The band competed at regionals on the 15th of October. Drum Major Presley Pittman states, “Our score this time around was 60.7% and around 7th in the state right now!” At the regional and state marching competitions, the success of participating bands is determined by their rankings relative to one another. This process involves five judges—three focusing on musical performance and two on marching technique—who provide feedback and assign numerical scores based on their evaluations of each band’s performance. Mr. Regenel says, “I think that Palisade High School put on an excellent performance at the regionals. We had a strong emotional connection to the show and it was one of the cleanest runs this season, so I’m extremely proud of the performance we put on as well as the energy we brought to it.” Mr. Regenel is the Palisade High School band director that has continued the legacy of PHS bands. Marching band training has been happening since the summer heat. State championships are upcoming for the Marching band so wish them luck! State will last 3 days, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. They will go through 2 semi-final rounds, if they get through the semi-finals they will then go to the finals where they will go against the 2nd or 1st place of the semi-finals. The State championships will be available with all the Marching bands in Colorado. Please consider congratulating the marching band for making it to the State semi-finals!
