On Friday the 13th, Stocker Stadium was filled, ready to cheer on and bring the spirit for the best game of the season; Homecoming game. The Palisade Bulldogs played against Cougars from Resurrection Christian high school. The game was a very great game. Coach Steele is the assistant coach. “ We always expect to win but I think it was a team we matched up with really well and competed with.” Steele said. This game was definitely balanced achieving the team goals as winning, execution, keeping the ball, and being physical.
In the first play of the first quarter, Palisade scored a touchdown by number two, Nathan Umberger. A touchdown in the first play was a great way to set the confidence up high for the rest of the game to definitely expect to get the win. Coach Steele says “ there were some turnovers that were not necessary and we definitely could have set the score higher/ played better but very glad we still won and the boys played well.” The more difficulties throughout the game the greater the happiness is when winning and the team made it through with the win.
The team definitely has much more potential that has yet to come in the next games. Coach Tucker is another assistant coach who said “Homecoming is always a fun week for the players, always expected to win. It was good, exciting, awesome for the kids. It’s always great that we got the win.” Good things happen with hard work and the team definitely showed it. Go support our Bulldogs at Stocker Stadium against Central on the 27th at 7:00!
