The Palisade cross country team had their 3rd race of the season, at connected lakes on Saturday the 7th, at 9:00 A.M. There were eight schools competing in this race, and the boys got 4th overall and girls 6th overall. This race was the Homecoming race , everybody was there to hype them up and bring the cheers and the cheerleaders were there to cheer them on as well as the principal and all the staff! The team got up bright and early ready to run to victory. Nathan Perry is a Junior. This is his first season of cross country. “The race went well. I got a personal record,” Perry says. That’s a way to start the season. Perry came to this race with power and ready to set those new records.
Pietroski is the coach for the cross country team. This is her second year of coaching. She says,“I’m super proud of the kids, they all ran very fast and most of them got personal records,” Pietroski said. This meet was a very impressive meet for our Palisade XC team all getting into action getting these personal records. “Everyone coming is a big reason why the kids did really well. They felt really supportive of their school and wanted to show up for them so it was really fun” Pietroski says.
This meet is a remarkable one by how much love the team got to show off their talents really boost their confidence. These five days a week practices of hard work have really been paying off for the team and this is only the beginning of their season they got much more potential to build up for the rest of the season. Go support the team in the next race on the 14th in Vail at 10:00 P.M!
