Boys tennis is in full swing! The Palisade and Central combined tennis team has been working hard. The WarDogs put up a tough fight against the Grand Junction High School tennis team on Thursday, but sadly they came out with a loss.
Last year, the WarDogs lost around 6 seniors, and it has been a challenge without them. However, the team has been brought a bunch of new faces. The new players seem to be doing very well in terms of becoming a part of the WarDog family. The team is being served some tough challenges, but they have been working together on conquering them. The team has also been enjoying being led by their new coach, Jordyn Morrow.
Junior Joseph Kirschenmann says, “We all played pretty well, but Junction has always been a tough team to beat.” Kirschenmann also says, “We have a lot that we can improve on, and we should practice on our net play because that’s where they were really getting us.” Kirschenmann plays one doubles. He also mentions, “We work together well, and are all on the same page, but also our weakness is that we have a lot of new players, but it is something we can figure out.” Kirschenmann enjoys playing for the WarDogs alongside his brother, Andrew Kirschenmann. The WarDogs are going to be working hard all season to come out with a greater portion of wins. Make sure to come to more tennis matches to support the WarDogs. You got this boys tennis!
