On August 27, 2024 Palisade High School held their first assembly for this year and got to congratulate and acknowledge students who have won awards last year while being at Palisade. Some of these awards include being a three sport athlete award, academic award, club award for FCCLA and FBLA, Speech and Debate, Internships for future careers and students who had a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Mr. Dan Bollinger, principal of Palisade High School, says that this awards assembly is a very special event since it’s to celebrate students’ achievements. Bollinger states, “…it’s to celebrate academic excellence, to celebrate kids who are working very hard to have a better GPA, working really hard, and demonstrating that those kinds of skills will be necessary in their future, in their future careers and just really celebrating the kids.”
These awards are part of presenting Palisade High School students and really acknowledging and recognizing these outstanding students who have worked so hard to make this happen. Bollinger also says how this assembly was such a proud moment for PHS and parents. He states, “Back when my kids went to school at Palisade High School I was pretty proud to be able to call their names and recognize them in front of all their peers and I know that parents feel the same way and they’re really proud. I mean, they see some of those nights that kids are up late doing homework and frustrated, and frustrated because they didn’t get the grade they wanted, but they overcome that adversity and I think anytime your kid works hard or struggles and does something well, as a parent you’re super excited for them.”
Congratulations to these exceptional students that got these awards. We’re proud of you guys. LET’S GO BULLDOGS!
