P-H-S Dogs! *drums pounding* “dun-dun-dundundun-dun” P-H-S Dogs! This verse is repeated in a loud, cheerful uproar during all sport games, assemblies, and school events. Being a part of Palisade’s Marching Band is a privilege and an achievement for all musicians involved. Everyday after school until the end of football season, you can find the band practicing in every kind of weather out in the Palisade parking lot. Whether rain or shine, the band will still practice with nothing stopping them (with the rain moving them to the gym). But these practices have involved a lot more sweat and tears than it appears; the band also practiced half of the summer for hours on end to perfect their craft. With all the effort put in, each performance under Friday night lights is always rewarding for every musician. “Every year I’ve been a part of the marching band has been an awesome experience,” says junior Eli Jordan. “I can’t wait to see what happens this year, our performance is going to be well worth the wait.” You can catch the band’s first performance on August 30th which you won’t want to miss!
