This week Palisades Paw Post interviewed a couple of Seniors on the Boys’ Basketball team. Three Senior boys on the team Cyrus Lawrence, Zach Anderson and Fred Moore. Also the managers Mia De Villegas and Ila Grahm . Lawrence and Moore both play multiple positions on the court ranging from center to a guard.
Fred Moore, when asked what his highlights were from the season, said, “When we made the playoffs, that’s something I’ve never done on varsity,”
Lawrence was asked the same question, stating that, ” I would have to say the same thing, but also playing Fruita we did well. Even though we lost we weren’t expected to do that well, we were supposed to be blown out and only lost by five,” The managers do all of the work behind the scenes like doing the score and recording everyones stats.Or getting materials and food for everyone.
Mia said “Everyone’s attitude and the environment just seeing how everyone connected during the season.”
” Another thing for me that was a highlight was getting to go to away games with the teams and just getting to support the team,” said Ghram.
As a team, the boys said overall that they had a good season as being one of the only 32 teams to go to playoffs.” It was one of the most fun seasons that I have had with Palisade.” Said Lawrence about the basketball team’s experience. ” I’m gonna miss the team a lot and getting to play with the people and the team dinners.”
“The thing I’m gonna miss most is just getting to see them play and compete with each other. Said the managers on what they were going to miss about basketball.
