On Saturday, April 13, Palisade celebrated yet another appreciation for the Honeybees. The festival is a great opportunity to learn about honeybees and how they are to agriculture everywhere, especially in our town. The festival takes place downtown and features around 70 vendors and small businesses. This also includes guest speakers and many activities for all ages. Although it does not stir as much traffic and commotion as our better-known festivals (Wine and Peach Fest) it still got plenty of tourists. It has diverse vendors and is an informational and fun way to spend your day. It’s a great way to meet new people and be a part of the welcoming community Palisade has created. Freshman, Tilly Stephens-Marner stated, “I was working there, it was a lot of fun and I got to interact with a lot of new people. It was exciting.” Honeybees are a huge part of helping grow crops around the world according to USDA, “Honeybees pollinate $15 billion worth of crops in the United States each year.” Stephens-Marner added, “I learned a lot, i was just expecting a boring vendor setup and to just be bored while working, but I got to do some of the activities and ended up doing quite a lot! It was such a great experience, and I enjoyed it more than the peach fest.” This shows how great of a community Palisade is and how the people come together
