Our Palisade Bulldog Cheer Team is headed to State to showcase their hard work over the past few months in hope to excite and impress judges and crowds.
The cheer team leaves on December 6th where they will perform on December 7th at the Denver Coliseum. Caitlyn Wesolowski is a senior and a co-captain on the cheer team. She has been cheering all four years. “I am super excited and I am also really eager to perform because it is going to be the last performance,” said Wesolowski. Like Wesolowski said, this will be the last performance for the senior cheerleaders in their high school career. It will be a bittersweet memory for these senior cheerleaders to remember. Wesolowski added, “I am just really excited to see what we can perform for the judges and see where we can place compared to the years past.”
Considering where they stand, Wesolowski said, “I would say we are really prepared. We have been practicing this routine for about three months now and at every practice we go through the routine up to 20 times. It’s a lot, but it is going to be worth it.” Faith Alvardo is another senior on the cheer team. She said, “This year the routine is a little bit better. Some of the stunts look better for sure and it looks more clean.” Something the cheer team could work on when performing is “Being super energetic out there. That is the whole purpose of gameday, getting your crowd engaged and the judges excited,” said Wesolowski. Alvardo added to that saying, “We definitely need to clean up some of our moves and be a little louder for sure.”
The cheer team is excited to see what they can showcase and hope to at least make the top 10 or 5. Good luck at State Bulldog Cheerleaders!
