First Ever Vibrant Volleyball a Huge Success

The winning team “The JV Demons” (Emily Hardin, Sadie Bunker, Rylin Elsrod, Katalyne Hean, Riley O’hara, Elizabeth Flemming, and Madison DeGeorge)

Last Friday Palisade had it’s first ever vibrant volleyball fundraiser and it was a huge success. The event featured a volleyball bracket with teams ranging from all over the school and was raising money for the Devland family.

The tournament took place in the main gym in the dark and decked out with neon decorations. There were two games going on at once and they were played with a glow in the dark volleyball. All the teams were dressed up and came ready to compete and have some fun.  It was won by the JV Demons representing the JV girls volleyball team. I spoke to Ivana Ceballos who is the student council senior class president, she coordinated the whole event. “I feel like it went really well, I feel like I heard a lot of good feedback,” says Ceballos. “I liked seeing all kinds of people show up, I feel like everyone just had a lot of fun and we saw a lot of people that don’t usually go to school events show up.” Because this is the first time Stuco has held this event Ceballos is hoping for vibrant volleyball to become a tradition for years to come. “I feel like people really liked it and will want to see it again so I hope it becomes a tradition.” Looking past the fun and excitement of the volleyball games, the whole event was a fundraiser for the Devland family. It truly shows the bulldog spirit in the support that we have for one another. Palisade culture truly shines when the school community gathers together for those who left the pack too soon.
