Whenever someone hears the name Trump, automatically you know there’s going to be some drama that goes along with it.
Hearing his name can stir things that go two ways: you can either love and worship him so much as an ally on his Trump Train, or you can despise him with a burning passion. There are many controversies regarding Trump’s comments, and alleged comments, towards veterans and the war-wounded but this all changed on Monday. Former Trump White House chief of staff John F. Kelly delivered a statement to CNN that served to confirm years-old comments Trump made in the past and which Kelly was present. Kelly confirmed Trump said things including “suckers” and “there is nothing in it for them” when he referred in 2020 to the 1,800 Marines who died at Belleau Wood in France during World War 1. Other comments Trump has been criticized for include in a 2022 book which quoted Trump saying, in the presence of Kelly, that he didn’t want “any wounded guys” in his Independence Day Parade. He was also criticized during the 2016 Democratic National Convention as he attacked a Gold Star family that had been critical of him. “Typical,” says an anonymous student from Palisade High School referring to Trump’s allegations. A motion was filed late last night, Trump’s lawyers asked the judge in his classified documents case to delay the trial until after the 2024 presidential election. The trial is currently scheduled for May 20, 2024. This morning is the fourth day of Trump’s civil fraud trial, which can lead to widespread problems between his family and business.
