Homecoming week is just around the corner, which means the battle for the Spirit Bone is also happening. Get ready to help support your school and grade by participating in hall decorating!
Each grade participates in activities to earn points for their grade, one of which is hall decorating. Seniors decorate Dog Run, juniors A hall, sophomores B hall and freshman D hall. The halls are judged by different staff members here at Palisade each year. The grade with the best hall earns a spirit point that can lead towards winning the notable and famous Spirit Bone. The theme of this year’s homecoming is The Four Seasons with seniors decorating in summer, juniors with spring, sophomores with winter, and freshmen with fall. “I’m Hank DeFord, I’m a sophomore in STUCO (student council) and the sophomores will win this year,” says one of the enthusiastic and hopeful students here at Palisade. Another student, Will Neese, thinks otherwise: “Hall decorating is not an underclassmen thing and it shows, the juniors will win and if not them then the seniors.” Activities to win these Spirit points include various spirit days, Powder Puff, Ruff n’ Tuff, and hall decorations. If you’re a student looking to show some spirit and make this year’s homecoming week the best yet, consider contributing and helping to decorate the halls. Hall decorating starts this Friday the twenty second after school from 3:30 to 5. When decorating, remember to not tape anything to the hallway floor so that the janitors can still clean our school.
