Palisade Junior, Madysan Bay, is the female Athlete of The Week brought to you by Palisade Dino Mart. Madysan does both softball and cheer, which is a commitment. “I have great coaches who work with me. I have cheer in the morning and softball in the afternoon so it really helps with being able to do both,” says Madysan. Going into what led Madysan to softball she said, “I have been playing softball for 6 years. I was trying to find a new sport and my dad played baseball, so he got me into softball and I fell in love.” Madysan said that before softball she was a gymnast for a while. In softball Madysan is a utility. She said, “I play anywhere they need me.”

Outside of sports and school activities Madysan likes pottery. “I think pottery is so fun and so relaxing. I make a lot of mugs and paint them for my friends and family.” In case you are ever in need of a mug Madysan is the person to find. Every high school athlete needs someone to look up to. “My biggest inspiration is my cousin Nick, who plays for the Cincinnati Reds. He makes me realize that there is a chance of going big.” Madysan talked about her greatest accomplishment in softball and said, “Getting the confidence level when I’m up to bat is something I have accomplished. Also hitting my first home run this year was really cool.” Advice that Madysan would give to an incoming freshman athlete is, “Be confident, because if you are not, then your play level will be different.” Congrats Madysan on Athlete of The Week!

Hey guys! My name is Joey and I am a Junior this year. This is my third year being a part of the Palisade Paw Post and my second year as advertising manager. A little bit about myself is that I love to be outside, either paddleboarding, hiking, or enjoying the sunset. I also teach and play tennis. My number one goal in life is to devote myself more and more to our Lord Jesus Christ. I am excited for another great year in the Palisade Paw Post!
