Messy Day: Fun in the Sun
Messy Day was a great way to spend some quality time with your friends while also taking in the sunny weather. It took place on Friday, May 5, and the event had so many fun activities that let everyone get involved. For example, there was water volleyball also regular, soccer, a dunk tank, food eating contest, slip and slide, games, dodgeball, and there was also a color battle. Lynessa Asplund was head of organizing the Messy Day event and said, “I think that slip and slide kick ball was a large attraction but the dunk tank was definitely the best to watch.”
The messy field day at Palisade night school turned out to be a fun and exciting event for everyone involved. Students were able to bond over their shared experiences of slipping and sliding through various obstacles. The messy nature of the field day also allowed participants to let loose and have fun without worrying about getting dirty or ruining their clothes.
In an interview with Lynessa Asplund she stated, “At lunch we were all a little worried about the weather because it said it was going to start raining but then it started to warm up which was good. We also had trouble finding food trucks even though we let many know in advance.”
In addition, the messy field day provided an opportunity for students to engage in physical activity while enjoying the outdoors. Many participants reported feeling energized and refreshed after participating in the various games and challenges. This type of experiential learning can be beneficial for overall health and well-being, as well as promoting teamwork and communication skills among peers. Overall, even though it was a bit chaotic, the messy field day at Palisade night school proved to be a positive experience for all involved.
