When thinking about the Palisade Highschool’s Homecoming week, you wouldn’t think about all of the events during that week. One of the biggest events of the Homecoming week is Ruff N Tuff and Powder Puff. The Powder Puff part is the girls playing dodge ball while the guys coach them. This year, the Junior girls won overall, which led them to go against the teachers. When asking Addison Fox about how she felt about their winning game, Fox expressed, “I felt confident going into the game with my team. All of our spirits were pretty high and we were all happy to be there. Previous years, I felt that we didn’t do as well. So I think it lit a fire behind us.” Adding onto how Fox and her team felt about going into the game she also added how they felt afterwards. Fox states, “Afterwards, I think we were all honestly really excited that we won, and just overall, our team spirit was great.” With that being said, they obviously won and went onto the next stage, which was going against the teachers. When Fox was asked about how she felt about the round with the teachers Fox had expressed, “The game against the teachers, I honestly wasn’t necessarily proud of my efforts, but I think our team had a great positive attitude through the whole game, so I’m not mad about anything that went on.” Fox was a little disappointed that they lost to the teachers, they just denominated the Seniors to get to the point that they got on and they lost that streak. With that being said, the PE teacher, Jill Reetz was asked about how she had felt about the dodgeball game that she was in against the winning Juniors. Reetz had said,”I think that we felt pretty confident. All the teachers were confident going into the game, and… we were ready to win.” Reetz and her team had won that game but they needed some strategies. Reetz was asked about the strategies that were used, Reetze had said, “Our strategies were taking out the other team’s best players early, and holding onto our jailbreak until we really needed it.” With both Reetz and Fox’s statements they both had high spirits into the game, and which led one of them to victory, the teachers.
