It’s hunting season time. How many people hunt in Colorado? There are 2.5 hunters per sq. mile of land. Many people enjoy hunting and have fun in the process while others don’t. What is the reason so many people enjoy hunting? Freshman Logan Holland says, “Well, it impacts my family because it’s like our main food source, like over the whole year. The experience from just being able to be out in the wilderness is just a good experience and that everyone should experience it.” Many people don’t enjoy being outside nor in the wilderness because of many factors.
Holland also says, “Because, you know, I get to skip school, I go home with my dad.” Holland says he uses hunting to skip school. But within it is really a way that he gets to spend time with family and be together. People also don’t enjoy hunting because it can be a gruesome process in reality. Freshman Peyton Bullock says, “ Killing animals is scary and I wasn’t raised in a hunting family.” Many other families have different opinions, whether it’s politics or in this case hunting. In the hunting process you have to first shoot the animal, then cut into the animal to harvest the meat inside of it. Within this process you have blood while cutting into the animal, which can be scary at times. But is it all for a purpose? Holland agreed saying, “ When I have shot an animal we always harvest as much of the meat as we can to use it for ourselves, and just to make it have a purpose
