Photo of Desk Outside of Parent Teacher Conferences
Palisade High school’s first Parent Teacher conferences just took place on the 17th just after school starting at 3:30 p.m. The conferences helped teachers and students get updated on their grades and how they are doing overall in school. Parents and students of Palisade High School attended the conference’s touch base with their teachers. Parents that are new to the school got a look around, met their students’ teachers more closely and got to know who is teaching their children and making connections with their kids.
Students whose grades were low, or had any problems went with their parents and talk about what needs to be done to get those grades or assignments in line and make sure their work is kept up.
Even if students were nervous about the conferences, teachers helped students and parents figure out different strategies and ways to do better in their classes. A freshman at Palisade that went to the conferences with her parents, Ryan Napoleon states “It went well, all teachers were really nice. The lines were really long so it took a while.” Many others shared similar experiences with Napoleon. The long lines which might be a problem for future conferences brought up some complaints from parents, In the future,
Hopefully there won’t be other parent teacher conferences in the future that will have long waits like this time.
Overall, parent teacher conferences went well for the first time, but in the future what should Palisade High School do to make the long wait times and lines shorter?
