Student Council working on our Homecoming assembly.
Here at Palisade, the Student Council is a crucial element because it provides a space for kids to represent kids. It also builds community, not only within the class itself, but across the board. The point of the student council is to come up with most of the school’s events, and to make kids feel more involved and have school spirit. Senoir Zoanne Smith said,” My favorite part about being in Student Council is we get to set up all the events and then we see the student body’s reaction to everything, which is what I love about being in Student Council.” It’s safe to say the Student Council helps kids feel more of a belonging. Student Council’s big events they are planning now are the Homecoming assembly and a collaboration with the cheer team”, Smith said,” There are going to be lots of games we are trying ot make it more game-oriented instead of last year where it was more information-based.” So be prepared for games at this year’s Homecoming assembly. The Student Council has also recently started a collaboration with the Palisade High School cheerleading team. Hank Deford said,” We are working on our spirit leaders, at the moment, and we have a new Instagram account for them, and that’s been going super well to increase the school spirit, especially in our student section at any game, so we have really big things coming for the students here at Palisade.” So be excited for some new stuff around school, and don’t forget to thank the Student Council for the fun activities we do at Palisade
