This week, the Athlete of the Week goes to Junior Lizzie Snover. Snover is a volleyball player who is one of the two returning players to Varsity this year. Snover all the way around and is a critical player in both offense and defense. There are many things that go into voleyball but we found out her favorite. Snover says,”My favorite thing about volleyball is how much I get to learn and grow on my mental and physical strength and how my skills grow as well. Also I love the coaches so much they help me through everything.”
Many players have huge roles on the team but Snover says, I am one of two returners that has played with the last year’s team. Now, being a captain, I am doing my best to lead and lead the new Varsity players and show them we also have to be leaders to our younger teams and be great friends and teammates with them too.” This is very important with team sports, ecspecially, for Snover being one of the only two returners back to the team. Snover is a great teammate that seems to helpout whenever is needed. Snover also talks about her goals for this year, “My biggest goal is to learn and grow as much as possible in all aspects of the game. Our biggest goal is to have great mental toughness and to keep growing and learning as a team to improve all of our skills together.”When asked to give advice to future Freshman Snover says, “ Be confident in yourself because your skills and attitude got you here and you’re here for a reason.” This is proof that Snover, not only showcases incredible dedication and effort to herself, but also to the whole Palisade Volleyball Program.
