Jayden Ford Challenging Durango Player
Palisade Bulldogs suffered a 2-0 loss against the Durango Demons last Friday night. As the Bulldogs geared up to face the Demons with high morale from previous victories, hopes were soaring. Soon after the first blow of the whistle Durango scores after a controversial play, after Durango sets the tone of the game, Palisade’s esteem quickly fell and allowed for Durango to capitalize on the lapse in Palisades defense and scored a second time almost instantly after their first goal. With Palisade down by two, the boys needed to change something to keep Durango out of their half of the field. As Durango and Palisade transfer to the second half, tactics change and the Palisade boys create more chances against Durango but none connected to the back of the net. Senior Samuel Urdaneta said, when asked about how he felt about how the team played “We were being a more reactive team than a proactive one.” Urdaneta followed with “We waited to get scored on twice to start playing good. I feel we should’ve won that game and I think that when we play them again we should come out with a win”. With Palisades first loss of the season fresh on their mind they are set to face Glenwood High School and Central High School this week. Is Palisade prepared to bounce back and produce two victories on their opponents or are they going to continue this week with a losing streak?
