This last Tuesday, September 2nd, the gym was full of team spirit and excitement when Palisade hosted their second game of the year. Palisade’s Varsity volleyball team played against Eagle Valley and crushed it. The set scores were Palisade 25-16 first quarter, Palisade 25-14 second quarter, Eagle Valley 24-26 third quarter, and Palisade 25-23 in the final quarter. Palisade won by a total of two points. When asked how Palisade played overall as a team, Sophomore Hadley Fenske responded with, “We went into it with strong intentions and positive attitudes, there were a few moments where it got rough but we pulled through.” It’s safe to say Palisade did a great job. Fenske continued to say, “I think we will do better next game because we have gotten to know each other’s strategies better.” As the girls on the team get to know each other better, they will play more confidently.
Their next game will be against the Montrose Red Hawks, and surely they will crush it just as they have so far this season. Freshman Scarlett Roberts says, “We did great last game, but I think we will do even better this time because we’ll have more practice in.” It’s safe to say that Palisade feels confident enough to show up and win. So go cheer on your fellow Bulldogs, and wish them luck.
