Performing Arts Student of the Week, Jack Wood
Playing instruments in front of people or acting in front of peers can be stressful, but these incredible students thrive in this environment. With the new edition of Performing Arts Student of the week in the Paw Post, we have decided to ask Mr. Regnell, our Palisade High School Band teacher, what students stuck out in his mind for the first article this year. The Performing Arts students that were chosen show how dedicated they are to their Performing Art class, and how hard they work inside and outside of class. This week, Mr. Regnell thought of Hunter Sowell, a Senior and Jack Wood, a Sophomore. After interviewing Sowell what his favorite part of marching band was and why he chose to stay in it, Sowell had to say, “I like marching band because it gives me something to do after school, and it involves us a lot in the community. A lot of our shows have an impact on the community as well, and it’s really cool to see the impact one band can have on people.” Clearly, Sowell is passionate about the band for many reasons, as he works so hard.
For marching band Students, they are quite busy with football games and performances, which they all look forward to, says Wood. “I look forward to events like football games, and our state trip. We do other events like bands of America and all these performances that we do, we all enjoy.” Obviously, Wood is very dedicated, practicing band and performing for the community. Clearly, Wood and Sowell work very hard, and it pays off with some fun events in the marching band. These dedicated students are natural leaders in their class in many ways.
