Hey hey hey Bulldogs! Welcome back or if you’re one of our new Bulldogs this year, welcome home! To start off the year we had our annual Color Dance on Friday, August 8th. Every year, Palisade High School prepares an event that allows all different kinds of kids to get loose and have some fun. It has always been one of Palisade’s most favorite events for many reasons. Assistant principal Brooke Castor states, “The Color Dance is one of my favorite events because kids have the opportunity to just play, even kids you never would imagine showing up and just run around is amazing.” Even from a perspective who isn’t a student, it is still a popular event that is loved around the Palisade community.
The Color Dance is such a great way to express yourself, spend time with your friends, and celebrate the first week of school. It’s a great way to break the ice as a new student here at Palisade High School and opens up conversation starters for those who want to make new friends. “My favorite thing is seeing the kids who don’t normally go to school or enjoy school show up and run around and play. It just felt good to see that it’s something that they enjoy, ” says Castor.
School isn’t for everyone, but this event seems to be something that everyone looks forward to. It’s so refreshing to see so many new Bulldogs this year experience this event for the first time. Seeing them feel so comfortable with branching out and having just as much fun as the Seniors here at Palisade feels so wholesome and exciting to see all the different grades and students who don’t even know each other come together and enjoy this event together as a whole is what represents Palisade.
