Each year Palisade High School has amazing individuals with overwhelming talent and leadership. These students have shown they can be amazing as an individual and as they can come together to make a great team. It is a privilege to be part the of National Honor Society (NHS) and students must be very responsible. While being a part of it they must maintain a 3.5 GPA and complete the service hours required while also being a team member.
Every year, a ceremony is held to induct the news members were selected into NHS. During the hour current NHS members were recognized for all the hard work they had put in and next year’s. The advisors, Mr. Kennedy and Ms. Stout led the ceremony and current members wished Mr. Kennedy a farewell as he retires this year.
Inductees sat on stage and waited for their names to be announced. When announced they would walk across the stage and receive a rose from NHS upcoming presidents. Freshman Dallas Scarrow states, “I am excited to be a part of NHS and give back to the community. I get an opportunity that others don’t get and get to be recognized academically. My volunteering will make this community a better place to be in and will overall be great. I understand all the responsibility and I’m ready to commit.”
After the ceremony, refreshments were served along with cake from a a fellow Palisade bakery. Students and there families talked together and enjoyed the moment.
Congratulations to all the new NHS members!
