An athletic, kind, hardworking, and motivated student has been selected as this week’s student of the week. Maddox Rewold, a sophisticated sophomore, has proven herself to be a shining Bulldog example. A student ahead of the game in golf, Spanish, and academics, Rewold is extremely qualified to be titled Student of the Week. Rewold was nominated for this honor by PHS Spanish teacher Ms. Marin.
It’s not hard to spot Maddox Rewold around Palisade, whether it’s on the golf course, managing during the boys season and playing for varsity during the girl’s season, at a Morgan’s Message club meeting, or in a honors or AP classroom. Rewold is also passionate about the outside world, helping make decisions through West Slope Youth Voice. “I grew up learning Spanish at DIA (Dual Immersion Academy)…I use it every day, and I honestly love it.” Rewold stated, speaking about her background with Spanish. Speaking about the rigor in her academics, and how she overcomes struggles, Rewold commented, “I’ve learned to have grit, and to keep persisting, no matter what task is thrown at you. I feel like school can get really tiring and really redundant.”
“My advice would be to take a break. I know that’s really hard for a lot of people, but definitely taking a step back and reassessing what you’re doing is really important, and to not put all your eggs in a basket.” Rewold stressed the importance of being able to slow down and take things slowly. “Don’t hyperfixate, take a step back, relax, do something you love, hang out with your family, and then come back to it with a fresh mind.”
The determination, positive attitude, and hard work encompassed in Maddox Rewold are attributes that we should encompass as Bulldogs. Congratulations, Maddox!
