Palisade baseball team up against Coal Ridge
On Tuesday, April 1st our boys baseball team played against Coal Ridge at the Palisade baseball field. Our Bulldogs had a winning score of 3-2 , our boys baseball team has been working and pushing themselves hard, as they are halfway through the season with some wins and some losses. What matters is our Bulldogs have been getting better and giving in their one hundred percent effort. Palisade was originally supposed to go to Coal Ridge to play at their field but due to severe cold and weather conditions they changed the game plan to Palisade but that didn’t slow down our team according to the winning score board.
The overall game on Tuesday, April 1st was a tough play with many challenges and interference that impacted the flow of the game. The score was a close win but it was well deserved and earned with strength, effort, and hard working players.
“ In the top of the 7th , one of our players had our bunt that put us up by one. It brought importance to me because of the way it picked everyone up and boosted everyone’s mood” Sophomore Wyatt Fleming. The importance of team bonding is the way they connect and celebrate each other’s accomplishments which is what Fleming did by boosting one of his teammates and being proud of not only himself, but his teammates. We have about 3 weeks of the Baseball season to go and Fleming sums up the season by saying “ we have progressed a lot during the season and we should be on a good win streak hopefully 9-2 or better but I have faith in our team and I have a good feeling about the season closing up”
Tobyn Trottier is a Junior at Palisade High School and has been playing baseball for a while now and when asked about his highlight of the game, his response was the exact same as Wyatt Fleming’s response which was about Caleb Wonks bunt that gave their team a boost. Our Bulldogs show and prove their pride for their teammates which is truly impressive. To be a good team is one thing , but to be good friends and people on the field is something impressive that not all teams can achieve. Congratulations Bulldogs, keep up the good work!
