This year’s Grammys took place on Sunday, February second in Los Angeles California. There were a lot of nominations and Grammys given out, and a lot of people who do not agree with the wins. The one thing people are most upset about is that Billie Eilish did not get a Grammy, specifically Album of the year. Someone who had a strong opinion on this was Palisade Freshman Liz Moor. “The Grammys made me very mad because Billie didn’t win any Grammys, she said.” Moor is one of many people I talked to and they all had the same opinion that Billie Eilish should have won.
Beyonce winning best country album shocked everyone enough but people were jumping out of their chairs after she won album of the year. Most people didn’t even know she had an album this year. Moor states, “I knew she had that one Texas song but I didn’t even know she made a whole album so it should have been Billie.” What made everyone even more upset with the Grammys was when they zoomed in on Billie Eilish crying because of how disappointed and sad she was about not winning a Grammy.
Before the Grammys, Billie Eilish said, “I am so proud of this album and I am so happy with it, this album is my best one so far and it’s a huge achievement for me and makes me so happy to see how far it has come.” So, after hearing her say that then not winning a single Grammy made it all the more worse for all the Billie fans who don’t just see her music as normal songs, but as something to help them through the hard times.
