Palisade Sophomore, Kadin Mulford is the Male Athlete of the Week brought to you by Palisade Dino Mart. Mulford is an outstanding athlete in wrestling, where the sport has been with him for as long as he can remember. “I’ve been wrestling pretty much my whole life. Who first inspired me to wrestle was my dad. Wrestling is something that he did and he passed it along to me.” The role that Mulford’s dad plays in his wrestling career doesn’t stop there.
“My biggest inspiration is my dad because of his hard work and commitment to everything he chooses to do. He is also my biggest supporter because of all of the energy and effort that he has put into me towards wrestling.”
With his dad’s unwavering support and example of hard work, Mulford is driven to keep pushing toward success. The lessons he has learned from him will undoubtedly continue to inspire and guide him in all his future endeavors. Along with that, Mulford is leading a strong season so far with an undefeated record during the week of January the 20th through the 25th of 6-0. He went 2-0 in duals against Central and Delta with pins in both matches. Mulford then proceeded to go 4-0 at the mile high classic with three pins and a win against the number two ranked wrestler in the state in the finals. Mulford reflected on his achievements stating: “My greatest accomplishments in wrestling would have to be being a high school state finalist or receiving All-American.”
Although wrestling is an individual sport, Mulford is still a mentor to his teammates, supporting and encouraging his peers along the way. “I bring a positive energy to the team as well as good leadership.” Mulford’s teammates mean more to him than he means to them. “My favorite thing about wrestling has to be the friends that you make along the way, as well as the awesome connections that you create.”
Mulford’s impressive wrestling achievements, driven by his father’s influence and unwavering support, highlight his dedication and leadership.
