Trevin Brannon wrestling at Tournament of Champions
A popular winter sport is coming up starting on November 18. Creating a new opportunity and option for boys within Palisade to participate in. Some people look forward to joining a new sport but are very nervous. Eli Jordan is a wrestler who started only last year, but enjoys being part of this sport. Jordan states, “ This is my second year doing this sport. I got into the sport because my family and also some of my friends were really big into it so I said why not try.” Following your passion in a sport is a huge deal and can lead to many different paths for people to grow while maturing and learning vital skills in life. Some people start wrestling when they are little, growing into the sport and becoming better with time. “I definitely want to go to the end of high school, and maybe into college. Having a more competitive setting can really take a toll but in the end it will work out,” Jordan commented. Many wrestlers follow this passion and give themselves an opportunity to take it to another level and build something out of this passion. Only around two percent of people make it to a Division 1 level in college, out of around four hundred thousand people in high school. Eli Jordan and the Palisade coaches are hoping to push others to fulfill everything in the sport and complete a great season this year. Good luck to this years Palisade wrestlers!
