Palisade Senior, Brielle Sorensen, is the female athlete of the week brought to you by Palisade Dino Mart. Sorensen is a two sport athlete running Cross Country and track here at Palisade High School. Sorensen is a senior and has been running track since freshman year and cross country since her sophomore year. Sorensen is also a loved runner bringing spirits high with the Bulldog, always making sure her teammates are doing good. As Sorensen states: “I am a team cheer leader and I always cheer on the team when they need it.” Sorensen also added, “my biggest accomplishment was at The JV championship last year when I beat my personal record and got a 22 minute and 53 second 5k.”
Cross Country is a very difficult sport not just physically but also mentally as most runners want to quit due to how demanding and stressful it is . Sorensen has some words that might help: “Just keep going. I know some days you don’t wanna run or show up to practice, but just push through it and it’s very rewarding.” Sorensen is also very active outside of school. She claims, “I love metal and Elvis. I also enjoy reading and going on hikes, like Mount Garfield.” One of Sorensen biggest inspirations is her Dad. She adds, “my biggest inspiration has gotta be my Dad. He keeps me pushing and he’s my best friend. I Look up to him a lot.” Congratulations Brielle Sorensen for receiving athlete of the week!
