The Varsity Bulldogs huddled up between points.
On October 10th, our Palisade Volleyball Bulldogs traveled out to Montrose, Colorado to take on the Montrose High RedHawks. This game brought our girls to a winning streak of not one, not two, not ten, but eleven wins in a row.
With the Freshman team and Junior Varsity teams running a little longer than expected, our Varsity Bulldogs had plenty of time to get themselves in the game. They walked into the first set strong with lots of confidence. Montrose struggled this set to make clean plays, a lot of their points barely pulling through. This set ended with a final score of 25-20, a good start for the Bulldogs.
The second set was another win for our girls, with an even larger gap in the end score of 25-17. It was looking for another three set win for the Bulldogs, but in the third set the Redhawks stepped up their game to drag the game to a fourth set. They barely crept in with a 22-25 win.
Despite the minor setback, the Redhawks stood no chance to our fearsome Bulldogs. Our girls came into that fourth set with vengeance on their minds. They demolished the Montrose High girls in the set with a quick victory, 25-9.
Senior Sabrina Landman shared her thoughts on the game stating, “It was very competitive for us, in a good way, to be able to overcome specific challenges.” Both teams introduced each other to new challenges, and new ways to adapt to divergent plays.
Sophomore Elizabeth Snover had an incredible game, showing off the Palisade Volleyball team’s younger talent. She had 15 digs and four aces, giving the Redhawks a run for their money.
Congratulations on the incredible win streak Bulldogs, and good luck for the rest of the season. Go Bulldogs!
