Palisade Senior, Easton Embrey, is the male Athlete of the Week brought to you by Palisade Dino Mart. Embrey plays football in the fall and baseball in the spring. In his current sport, football, Embrey has completed five touchdowns and 366 yards in the season so far. He plays free safety and running back.
Embrey has been playing football for six years. “I went to a football themed birthday party when I was about 7-8 years old and fell in love with it and decided I wanted to play.” Over the years of playing, Embrey has grown as a leader and has developed significant speed and skill, which helps bring the team to victories. Embrey’s dedication has also led him to many successes throughout his football career. “My greatest accomplishment was receiving All-State last year,” said Embrey.
Embrey has gained much knowledge from football, but it doesn’t compare to the bonds he has made through the sport. “My favorite thing about football is the brotherhood,” said Embrey. Some of Embrey’s biggest inspirations in football were his teammates who played alongside him. “Franklin Barks was someone I looked up to when it came to football, as well as Malakhi Espinoza,” said Embrey. Barks and Espinoza played football for Palisade and graduated in the year 2023. “I saw them as friends and they both took me under their wing and I got to learn a lot about Palisade football from them. I miss playing with them both.”
Embrey’s leadership and skills play a huge role in the team’s success. His passion for coming together as a team and building bonds is what glues the team together. Congratulations Easton Embrey on receiving Athlete of the Week!
