Palisade Freshman, Jack Yu, is one of the two male Athletes of the Week brought to you by Palisade Dino Mart. Yu plays tennis and swims in the spring. Yu expresses how excited he is to get the Athlete of the Week saying, “It just shows the hard work I’ve put in, and I’m very thankful that I got this. I’m proud of myself especially because I improved a lot in the season both mentally and physically.” Yu loves playing tennis and has improved noticeably throughout practices and matches. He also notes how helpful his teammates and coach have been, “My team is basically like my second family, when I’m feeling down they’re always there to pick eachother up and I think we’ve gotten really close. My coach is awesome. She’s super helpful, if I need help with something or I’m just not mentally there she’s always able to pick the team up and get us going to get to that goal.”
Yu is excited for the rest of the season and to spend more time with his team. “This season we didn’t get to travel as much. We only got to travel once, which was super fun, because it was just like a weekend I got to spend with my friends, hanging out, so I’m looking forward to that in the coming weeks.” Although he’s never been before, Yu is ready to make it to Regionals and State. He’s eager to spend more time with his team and keep the great season going. Congratulations Jack Yu on receiving Athlete of the Week!
