Palisade Senior, Sabrina Landman, is the female Athlete of the Week brought to you by Palisade Dino Mart. Landman is a stellar athlete in volleyball where she plays as a pin hitter. “I started learning the basics of volleyball when I was around 8 years old with the help of my mom,” said Landman. “My mom was a collegiate volleyball player and she started teaching me when I was really young.” Over the course of playing, Landman has come to love and appreciate so much about volleyball. “My favorite thing about volleyball is that it’s such a team sport. Since no one can touch the ball twice in a row it forces you to build a bond and trust with your teammates.”
When she is not on the court, you can find Landman enjoying a day in the sun or out on a different kind of court. “Outside of volleyball I love to read, paddleboard, hike, watch movies, and play pickleball.” The commitment and dedication Landman puts into volleyball definitely pays off. “My biggest accomplishment in volleyball has been committing to play at the college level. That has been a goal of mine since as long as I can remember.” Landman will attend Regis University where she will continue her volleyball and academic career. “I would not have gotten here without my coaches and teammates along the way.” Family also plays a big role in helping Landman succeed. “My biggest inspiration is my papa (grandfather). He is the kindest soul, an amazing leader, and has so much love for everyone in his life.”
Landman has so much ahead of her and is looking forward to a great season. Her hard work ethic in everything she does goes without being unnoticed. She is an astounding player and leader to her peers. Congratulations Sabrina Landman on receiving Athlete of the Week!
