Female Athlete of the Week: Delaney Brinkley

Palisade Junior, Delaney Brinkley, is the female Athlete of the Week brought to you by Palisade Dino Mart. Brinkley plays lacrosse where her position is currently midfield and defense. This is her first year playing and she really enjoys it. “I started off never really picking up a stick before, and now I’m playing in the playoff game so that shows my growth.” When describing the season, Brinkley said, “It’s been really good. Personally, I’ve grown a lot. As a team, we’re first in the league and that’s a really good accomplishment.” Brinkley brings a good attitude to the team everyday, “When things are down, I’m not going to be the person who’s being negative.” Balancing sports and academics comes easy to Brinkley, she says it’s all about time management. “You have to figure out your schedule between practice and also testing. You just have to be able to balance everything.” Alongside lacrosse, Brinkley plays volleyball in the fall and swims in the winter. When she’s not partaking in her sports or doing schoolwork, Brinkley enjoys traveling and hiking outside. When asked who her biggest inspiration is, Brinkley immediately answered. “I give all glory to God, I do everything for him.” Brinkley wants to leave her audience off with a note, saying “never be afraid to try something new
