Palisade Sophomore, Kian Kinslow, is the male Athlete of the Week brought to you by Palisade Dino Mart. Kinslow plays football in the fall and baseball in the spring. In his current sport, baseball, Kinslow plays first base. He was introduced to baseball at a young age through close relationships. “I have been playing baseball for about 13 years now,” said Kinslow. “My dad got me into it when I was little and I have loved it ever since.” Over the years, Kinslow’s dad has been by his side and has been a big part of his life. “My dad has been there since day one and has taught me everything I know inside and outside of baseball.”
Through his hard work and dedication during the off-season, Kinslow has had huge successes in his sophomore season. “Improving myself has been a big accomplishment for me,” said Kinslow. “Last year was just horrible and now I have something to prove this year.” Kinslow brings more than just commitment and skill to the team. “I bring joy, excitement, and entertainment to the team,” said Kinslow. Throughout his years of playing, Kinslow has created a bond with not just baseball itself, but what comes with it as well. “I love the team chemistry that you have to build and just the fact that it is a team sport.” Advice Kinslow would share to any athlete, whether you may be experienced or not is: “It’s a grind you have to dedicate yourself to. You really have to push your limits and be coachable.” Kinslow’s steadfast determination towards baseball and his teammates is inspirational to all those around him. Congratulations Kian on Athlete of the Week!
